Our Team

I graduated from Empire Beauty School in my home town of Tucson, Arizona in 2012. Since then, I’ve been enjoying my career in hairstyling and honing my skills with extensive training in cutting and coloring techniques, including highlighting, balayage, color correcting, and creative color. I am a redken certified stylist who loves working with my clients to customize a look that best compliments their individual features, hair types, and maintenance goals. Doing hair is a creative outlet for me, as well as a rewarding experience when my customers are happy and excited about their results!
In my spare time I enjoy bicycle riding, painting, and spending time with my family and my cat.

I graduated from Aveda Institute Minneapolis in 2006. Continuing with my Aveda training, I worked as a color specialist at Juut Salon in downtown Minneapolis. In 2007, I relocated to Sacra-mento to work at a salon on a college campus creating many artistic/funky haircuts and colors. My freelance career was born in California. I performed up-dos and make-up on location for weddings and special events. In 2009, I moved back to my home town of Cedar Rapids to manage a children’s salon. I continued my freelance career and have done many on-site weddings since then. In 2013, I was fortunate to team up with Angie to bring to life our creative vision which is now Salon Voché.

I have participated in Macy’s Glamorama and LA’s fashion week. I have advanced training in wedding styling, hair color, and movie production make-up. In 2014, I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa with a concentration in Chemistry.

My Specialties for hair color include Natural Blondes, Bleach & Tones, Corrective Color, and Ombre. I also love to cut short funky hairstyles, Blow-out styling, and make-up applications! I enjoy pampering everyone who sits in my chair. I believe hairstylists have the ability to stress relieve and ease one’s soul. A complimentary scalp massage is offered with every haircut and color service! In my free time, I like to hike with my dogs and watch movies.

I began my cosmetology journey at Capri College in Dubuque, Iowa. After graduation I was employed with Contempo Salon Spa in Dubuque until my family and I moved to Cedar Rapids in the summer of 2021, where I have been able to continue my cosmetology journey at Salon Voche’. I am well versed in everything to do with hair including cutting, coloring, and styling. I enjoy developing relationships with my clients and would love to help you reach your hair goals.

I graduated from Capri Cedar Rapids in 2014 at just 18 years old and went on to work for 4 years at Blaze in Cedar Rapids. I have extensive training in color placement/theory, French haircutting, and also formal styling & makeup. I specialize in vibrant creative coloring, balayage and dimensional blondes, as well as short detailed women’s cuts such as bobs/lobs and razor cuts.

I take pride in thorough consultations, as well as educating you on home care maintenance and styling. Your hair should be an accessory you feel confident about wearing everyday! I strive to give every guest a customized look, professional recommendations while incorporating current trends, and techniques.

When not working I enjoy spending time with my friends, or cuddling with my cat. I love live music, festivals, traveling, and meeting new people! I have a passion for plants, food, clothes, and coffee 😍

Graduating from Iowa School of Beauty in 2014, I am approaching my fourth year in the industry. After graduating, I was hired at Blaze Color Salon and was promoted to senior stylist after being there for a year and a half. I am incredibly passionate about hair and building great relationships with my clients. I specialize in men’s and women’s cuts but also love the art of balayage, creative coloring and shaping eyebrows. I’ve had the pleasure of being specially trained in French cutting and balayage. It is my goal to achieve a beautiful, personalized look for every guest.

When not in the salon I enjoy spending time with my family, going on road trips all across the U.S., kayaking and hanging out with my dog, Cooper! I am so excited to see where life takes me here at Salon Voché!

I graduated from Capri college in 2014. Growing up, I don’t think I had a Barbie that didn’t have its hair cut off. I love doing balayage and natural blonde and brown tones. I’m very detail oriented so I also really like doing super blended and natural highlighting techniques.

I always look forward to wedding and prom season! I love doing updos and styles and just seeing someone feel so gorgeous on such a special day.

When I’m not behind the chair I love spending time with my family and friends. We’re kind of nerdy in our household and we play a lot of video games My husband and I like to visit new places and go on adventures. I also love fishing with my dad and going camping in the summer.

Katy is a graduate of The Aveda Institute in Minneapolis and has been a professional stylist since 2004. Her repertoire is inspired by fashion, beauty and keeping up on what is new and on-trend. She loves seeing her clients leave the salon looking and feeling great.
