I often get asked why I opened a salon. Valid question considering I’ve never cut or colored hair in my life.☺ For me it was about providing superb service. Prior to meeting McKenzie I had some good hair experiences and some really bad ones. I wanted to create a salon environment that was not only warm and welcoming, but one with stylists that listened, set proper expectations and educated me on my hair.
In 2014 I teamed up with McKenzie to develop the foundation of Voché; an intimate, warm and customer-focused salon experience. Voché is all about expressing your individuality which is one of the reasons you won’t find our stylists dressed in all black or wearing uniforms.
One of my favorite quotes is from Zig Ziglar “You don’t build a business. You build people, and people build the business.” I understand the value of my employees and believe that taking risks comes with great rewards. Successful business owners are those who are constantly pushing boundaries, challenging themselves and staying innovative.
I spend my time in the salon developing my managers, motivating my team and using my business expertise to help educate on the beauty industry.
Salon Manager, Master Stylist, Makeup Artist
I graduated from Aveda Institute Minneapolis in 2006. Continuing with my Aveda training, I worked as a color specialist at Juut Salon in downtown Minneapolis. In 2007, I relocated to Sacra-mento to work at a salon on a college campus creating many artistic/funky haircuts and colors. My freelance career was born in California. I performed up-dos and make-up on location for weddings and special events. In 2009, I moved back to my home town of Cedar Rapids to manage a children’s salon. I continued my freelance career and have done many on-site weddings since then. In 2013, I was fortunate to team up with Angie to bring to life our creative vision which is now Salon Voché.
I have participated in Macy’s Glamorama and LA’s fashion week. I have advanced training in wedding styling, hair color, and movie production make-up. In 2014, I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa with a concentration in Chemistry.
My Specialties for hair color include Natural Blondes, Bleach & Tones, Corrective Color, and Ombre. I also love to cut short funky hairstyles, Blow-out styling, and make-up applications! I enjoy pampering everyone who sits in my chair. I believe hairstylists have the ability to stress relieve and ease one’s soul. A complimentary scalp massage is offered with every haircut and color service! In my free time, I like to hike with my dogs and watch movies.

I strive to give every guest a customized look, professional recommendations while incorporating current trends, and techniques.
When not working I enjoy spending time with my friends, or cuddling with my cat. I love live music, festivals, traveling, and meeting new people! I have a passion for plants, food, clothes, and coffee 😍
Senior Stylist & Makeup Artist
Graduating from Iowa School of Beauty in 2014, I am approaching my fourth year in the industry. After graduating, I was hired at Blaze Color Salon and was promoted to senior stylist after being there for a year and a half. I am incredibly passionate about hair and building great relationships with my clients. I specialize in men’s and women’s cuts but also love the art of balayage, creative coloring and shaping eyebrows. I’ve had the pleasure of being specially trained in French cutting and balayage. It is my goal to achieve a beautiful, personalized look for every guest.
When not in the salon I enjoy spending time with my family, going on road trips all across the U.S., kayaking and hanging out with my dog, Cooper! I am so excited to see where life takes me here at Salon Voché!
I graduated from Capri college in 2014. Growing up, I don’t think I had a Barbie that didn’t have its hair cut off. I enjoy doing men’s cuts. I like the “fine tuning” aspect of it. I’m very detail oriented so I also really like doing super blended and natural highlighting techniques.
I always look forward to wedding and prom season! I love doing updos and styles and just seeing someone feel so gorgeous on such a special day.
When I’m not behind the chair I love spending time with my family and friends. We’re kind of nerdy in our household and we play a lot of video games My husband and I like to visit new places and go on adventures. I also love fishing with my dad and going camping in the summer.

Esthetician & Nail Tech
I have been working in CR for the past 19 years. I do all nail services, pedicures, full body waxing, lash extensions, spray tanning, chemical peels, and permanent makeup. I went to an all nail academy in Tucson, AZ. I went to aesthetics school at Capri in CR and went to permanent makeup school in Las Vegas, NV.
I love instantaneous results, therefore, I love doing all of my services, nothing like giving someone a great set of eyebrows!! I am married and live in Waubeek with 14 dogs, 4 horses, and two cats. When I am not working I am attending corgi picnics across the country or simply just walking the dogs! I am known as the crazy corgi lady and that is fine with me.
I graduated beauty school in 2015. Most of my childhood was in the salon watching my mom do hair. If I wasn’t cutting my own hair with toenail clippers or grandpa’s razor, the dogs nails were painted, and my dolls were very “stylish”. I’ve always known that doing hair & make-up was my passion. Watching clients walk out with a smile is a job well done in my book.
Special occasion services are my ALL time favorite but let’s be honest I love it all! I always say “If you love what you do, you don’t work a day in your life!
In my free time I enjoy spending time with family & friends. They often tell me I can talk to just about anyone, so shy is not a common word to describe me. Outdoors is most of the time where you can find me, kayaking, tubing, camping etc.
